Malta has four licensed land-based casinos, and all of them follow the same basic entry rules. If you know the age limits, bring the right ID and dress the part, getting in takes a couple of minutes. This guide explains what to expect at the door of each casino.
Minimum age: 18 for visitors, 25 for Maltese citizens
Malta has two age limits for casinos. Visitors from abroad can enter from the age of 18. Maltese citizens must be at least 25. Every casino checks this at the reception desk, so it does not matter how old you look.
Bring a passport or ID card on your first visit
On your first visit you register at the reception with a valid document. After that, you are in the casino's system, and later visits are quicker.

Registration is free at all four casinos. Several of them offer a loyalty or club card after registration, which collects points for drinks, meals or slot credits.
Entry is free
None of the casinos in Malta charge an entrance fee. You only pay for what you play, eat or drink.
Dress code at each casino
The dress codes in Malta are relaxed compared with many European casinos. You do not need a jacket or tie anywhere, but beachwear is not welcome.

A good rule for all four: long trousers or a smart skirt, a clean shirt or top and closed shoes. That works everywhere, from the palace setting of the Dragonara to the seafront Oracle.
Opening hours: open 24/7
All four casinos are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Some parts keep shorter hours: restaurants, certain table games and poker tournaments follow their own schedules. If you want to play a specific game or join a tournament, check the casino's website on the day.
